GB3836.2----2000 Electric Apparatus for Explosive Gas Atmosphere Part II: Flameproof
Enclosures “d ” (hereafter called “the new standard ”). Promulgated in Jan. 1 of 2000, the new standard was come into effect in Aug. 1 of that year. GB3836.2-1983(hereafter called the old standard) was replaced by GB3836.2-2000. Compared with the old standard, the new standard has been greatly altered in aspects of concept, term, configuration, technical parameter as well as mode of expression. In accordance with the prescription that state will positively adopt international standard and foreign advanced standard, the standard is emended equal to IEC60079-1(3 rd edition 1990) Electric Equipment for Explosive Gas Atmosphere Part I: configuration and test of flameproof housing of electric equipment on part of structure mode, noun term, item and chapter, arrangement of narration as well as all technical elements. Several contents are prescribed complementarily that aren’t included in the text. The former name of the new standard is: Electric Equipment for Explosive Gas Atmosphere Part I: Construction and Verification test of flameproof enclosures of electrical apparatus, which is translated as“爆炸性气体环境用电气设备第1部分：电气设备隔爆外壳的结构与实验”When collect opinions and checkup the standard, the majority of representatives don’t content the above standard’s title as result of the standard reference  to electric equipment or product not just only to “flameproof housing”. Therefore, the representatives, who attend the examination meeting the 1st session of the 3rd National Explosion-proof Technology Standardization Committee’s Congress in Shenyang, propose to change the standard’s name as the present one Electric Apparatus for Explosive Gas Atmosphere Part II: Flameproof Enclosures “d”.  
GB3836.2—2000 is a compulsory standard. Usually the expression words in compulsory standard and recommend standard are very different. Owing to IEC Standard as recommended to every countries all of the world, the words being used adopt “should”, “shouldn’t”, etc, of the non-compulsory ones, rather than the compulsory words “must”, “mustn’t”, for example— gap of joint face should conform to the prescription of Table 1—4,
Hole of fasten bolt shouldn’t penetrate through the outside housing. Thank to the standard is compulsory, the word in it “should” means “must” and “need”, not recommendable, “shouldn’t” means “mustn’t”.
GB3836.2—83 include 22 chapters 129 items, 2 appendixes, 11 attaching tables, and 14 illustrations.
