4.1.1 Test Ambient
Ambient temperature: except when otherwise specified, the ambient temperature shall not vary by more than 10 °C from -20°C to 40°C during the test. Ambient temperature shall be measured close to the dispenser and test equipment. Maximum difference in temperature between ambient and liquid is 10 °C. Liquid temperature shall be measured in the test measure.
Relative humidity: except when otherwise specified, between 30 % and 80 %, and 60 % ± 15 % on performance tests for electronic dispensers. Atmospheric pressure: between 86 kPa and 106 kPa. Mains power voltage: nominal voltage.
Mains power frequency: nominal frequency.
4.1.2 Test conditions
Test liquid: two alternatives, in order of preference:
test a dispenser with a liquid with which it is intended to be used.
test a dispenser with a suitable liquid having a viscosity similar to that of the liquid with which the dispenser is intended to be used.
For a dispenser intended to measure liquids with different characteristics, especially diesel and gasoline, tests shall, if appropriate, be performed for each category of product. It’s not allowable to test a dispenser with water. The max temperature shall not more than 30°C, the lowest temperature must prevent the concretion. No more than 4 °C shall be over between the oil in the equipment and the outlet
4.1.3 test equipment
4.1.3.1 Standard devices
Standard metal measuring devices, cubic tube, high-precision balance or standard flow meter. Those devices shall not only conform to the national regulation concerning the metrology but also the test and check requirement, the test precision, extension of measure for example.
Test equipment: shall be designed to permit the dispenser to work within its flowrate and pressure range. The standard devices shall be designed to permit the tolerance no more than 20% of total allowable error. The measuring scope of metal measuring and cubic tube shall be no less than the max volume jetted by the fuel dispenser within 1 minute. The weighing scope of the high-precision balance shall e no less than the max volume jetted by the dispenser within 1 minute. The measuring scope for the standard flowmeter with output pulse shall not less than 600 and the test time will last for at least 1 minute.
4.1.3.2 Ancillary devices
Thermometer or thermo transformer: the measuring scope of the thermometer is between -20°C to 40°C, the minimum division value is 0.2°C, on the purpose of measuring the medium temperature of the nozzle and standard equipments to replace respectively those in the dispenser. At the same time for the modification of the medium temperature away from the standard temperature 20°C.
Stopwatch: the division value is 0.1s, mainly for the flowrate of fuel dispenser.
Gradienter: the accuracy is required to be 0.05mm/m for the measuring horizontality of the metal metrological devices. If the standard devices are composed with the cubic tube, high-precision balance, standard flowmeter. The gradienter is not the indispensable.
Volume of the supply tank: shall be of sufficient capacity to not cause foaming of the liquid or a rise in temperature during the performance tests. No less than the max ejecting volume per 10min of dispenser. The volume of the supply tank shall be not less than 600L for the dispenser of which the max flowrate is 60L/min. Referring to the design principle of standard devices and the thermo balance of oil medium, the volume of supply tank shall be ten times volume of that the dispenser ejecting within 1 minute. Preliminary runs: every time the dispenser is connected hydraulically, it shall be operated at the maximum flowrate for at least five minutes before measurement starts. Every time a new work session starts (for example after a stop of one hour or more), the dispenser shall work at the maximum flowrate for at least one minute before meas- urement starts. |
