For type 2b) transformers where insulation from earth of the windings used in the intrinsically safe circuit
is required, then the requirement shall be as above. However, if insulation from earth is not required, then
the transformer shall be accepted providing that it does not burst into flames.
8.1.5 Routine test of mains transformers
Each mains transformer shall be tested in accordance with 11.2.
